The Allen & Reno Lateral is a historic irrigation system serving Olde Town Arvada. Although it began as an open ditch, it is now almost entirely piped underground and delivers water through a network of buried pipelines and long‑established service points.

The ditch is owned collectively by its shareholders through the Allen & Reno Lateral Ditch Company.

Water is diverted from Ralston Creek at the historic headgate and delivered through the underground pipeline system.

Only the ditch company or its designated superintendent may operate the headgate. This ensures safe, consistent, and lawful water delivery.
